Gorham Bike and Ski located at 693 Congress Street, is a terrific resource for all your bike rental needs. Conveniently located near the Danforth Inn their shop can meet all of your vacation biking needs.
Whether you would like to experience the Old Port on two wheels, or rent a bike rack and take a tour out on the open road, you won't need to look any further!
I was visited by one of their employees the other day, riding around on a very fun Comfort Bike....very retro!
Please feel free to inquire when making a reservation, and we will be happy to arrange your rental with Gorham Bike and Ski in advance of your visit. With our easy to read maps here at the Inn, you will be all set for a fun tour of the city.

The first stages of a project are always the most frustrating. A project of this size in a short time frame....even more frustrating! While you take the time to choose colors, choose carpeting, choose furniture, and choose paint it FEELS like nothing is being accomplished because you can't actually see any progress.
But.....here we are with something tangible, something beautiful! We have almost totally completed the initial outside landscaping spring clean up, and I am thrilled with the results. So much the better to have found a lively, energetic, fun and ORGANIC landscaper!
It will be a few weeks before things start to fill in, but in the meantime, all the beds are cleaned, newly cut in, and organic mulch is feeding the soil throughout the grounds. The hardest part right now is showing some patience regarding all the wonderful projects that this beautiful land just calls out for. It is fun to have some sunny spaces to show off color, and I find myself dreaming of the herb garden....and nasturiums galore.
Casey Sullivan of Organic Innovations and Landscaping in Brunswick was quick to our aid last week and today to whip these beds into shape and prepare our grounds for upcoming weddings and celebrations. Casey is the owner and oversees each project from beginning to end. I can picture a lovely summer day with guests enjoying our afternoon intermezzo out on the side lawn relaxing in the adirondack chairs, sipping lemonade and enjoying what I know will become our famous Danforth scones!

Kimberly Swan is pleased to announce the purchase of her latest Inn to add to her already existing family of Intimate Bed and Breakfasts. This photo is of the front porch that is a jewel just waiting to be enjoyed. We are so pleased to be here, and be the new stewards of this amazing property. Barbara Hathaway Ward was the former Innkeeper and is responsible for this beautiful building being very well loved for many years. She had a deep respect for the historical significance of the structure which allows the guests that tary here to enjoy a truly spectacular part of Portland’s History. It is our intent to honor that history while bringing a contemporary flair to the decor. Stay tuned for new announcements along the way, as the business begins to take shape. We will continue the tradition of the Danforth Inn serving as a Premier Event Venue for the Portland area. Our own Pomegranate Parties will serve as the exclusive caterer to the Danforth Inn’s events. We are off to get a few hours of rest, and then start anew tomorrow morning with plans and paint brushes.
